ADEPT IMAGERY — 500+ WEDDINGS PHOTOGRAPHED - 170+ FIVE-STAR REVIEWS

I’m James, a wedding photographer based near Evesham. I’ve photographed more than 500 weddings across the UK, including Shropshire venues such as Davenport House, High Grosvenor House and The Hundred House Hotel.

Most of the wedding does not need directing. I’ll step in when a little guidance helps, keep the family photographs moving and leave the moment alone when it is already doing everything it should.

You get to spend the day with your people, and the photographs still bring back how it felt.

REAL WEDDINGS — SHROPSHIRE

Start with weddings that actually happened here

The easiest way to understand how I work is to look at complete wedding days.

These weddings include an outdoor ceremony, a characterful barn, spring rain, confetti, speeches and properly busy dance floors. The venues change, the weather changes and the people are completely different.

The approach stayed the same: a little direction when it helped and plenty of room for the wedding to happen.

Mark & James | The Hundred House Hotel

An Oak Barn ceremony, confetti, a relaxed afternoon in the gardens and one swing-related incident Mark did not see coming.
Matt & Lauren | High Grosvenor House

A spring wedding with sunshine, speeches, a packed dance floor, sparklers and one of my favourite rain photographs.

Good photographs without building the day around them

APPROACH — THE WEDDING COMES FIRST
Most couples who book me want good photographs but do not want the wedding built around making them.

That means I keep the organised parts efficient. We work from a clear family-photograph list, use the time while guests are being seated for a short portrait walk and avoid repeatedly dragging you away from the people you invited.

I will help when help is useful. I will sort the light, give you enough direction that you never feel abandoned and step in if the timings need it.

The rest of the day is photographed as it happens.

Venue Guides — Shropshire

Shropshire wedding venues, explained from experience

A useful venue guide should tell you more than what can already be found in the brochure.

These guides are based on photographing real weddings at the venues: how the spaces connect, what works in different weather, where the light is useful and how much time couples actually need for photographs.

Venue Guide — The Hundred House Hotel
Getting married at The Hundred House Hotel
The Hundred House is one of the Shropshire venues I know best and one of the few places where I’m a recommended supplier.

My guide covers the Oak Barn, gardens, newer indoor spaces, wet-weather options and how the wedding normally moves through the venue.

Venue Guide — High Grosvenor House
Getting married at High Grosvenor House
I photographed a complete March wedding at High Grosvenor House, from preparations in the main house through to the dance floor.

The guide covers the naturally lit ceremony room, terrace and lawn, where family and couple photographs fit, what happens when it rains and a few practical things worth considering before the day.

In their words — April & Scott
“The way James captured our emotions, the laughter of our friends and family, and the little details we worked so hard on is nothing short of magical.”
Experience — more than a camera

A wedding day rarely follows the neat version of the timeline

Matt and Lauren kissing beneath an illuminated umbrella in heavy evening rain.

Weather changes. Speeches run over. Guests vanish just as the family photographs are about to begin, and the light can be completely different from what the forecast promised.

After more than 500 weddings, none of that feels unusual.

At Davenport House, April and Scott were able to marry outside on the lawn. At High Grosvenor House, the rain gave Matt and Lauren one of their favourite photographs. At The Hundred House, the spaces are close enough that moving indoors does not disconnect everybody from the wedding.

My job is to keep an eye on the timings, weather and light without making you manage the photography for me.

Coverage built around the part of the day you want remembered

Some couples want everything from preparations through to the dance floor. Others need six hours around the ceremony and reception.

The collection changes the amount of time I am there. It does not change the way the wedding is photographed.

The Full Story.
Full-day coverage
£1495.

Full-day wedding photography that never turns your wedding into a photoshoot.

The Full Story gives me up to twelve hours to document the day from preparations through to the dance floor. There is enough time for the important photographs and enough space around them for you to enjoy the wedding properly.

No racing through a checklist. No disappearing for a two-hour portrait session. A little direction when it helps, then back to the people you invited.

Answers to some common questions about wedding photography in Shropshire.
Where are you based, and do you travel across Shropshire?
EXPAND
I’m based near Evesham and travel throughout Shropshire for weddings. I have photographed at venues around Bridgnorth, including Davenport House, High Grosvenor House and The Hundred House Hotel, and I’m happy to work elsewhere in the county.

Any unusual travel or accommodation cost would be agreed before booking. It will not appear as a surprise afterwards.
Which Shropshire wedding venues have you photographed?
EXPAND
My recent Shropshire work includes Davenport House, High Grosvenor House, The Mill Barns and The Hundred House Hotel.

I know how each works on a real wedding day, including where preparations happen, how the ceremony and reception spaces connect and where we can make photographs without disappearing for an hour.
What is your photography style?
EXPAND
My approach is relaxed and documentary-led. Most of the wedding is photographed as it happens, but I still organise family photographs, help with timings and give you direction during portraits.

Documentary does not mean leaving you to work everything out by yourselves.
Will you help us if we feel awkward in photographs?
EXPAND
Yes. You do not need to know how to pose or practise anything beforehand.

I will put you somewhere the light and background work, give you enough direction to stop you wondering what to do and then let you settle into being yourselves.
How much does a Shropshire wedding photographer cost?
EXPAND
The Full Story is £1,495 for full-day wedding photography. The Half Story is £995 for six hours, and shorter collections are available for smaller weddings.

The best option depends on your ceremony time, travel and how much of the evening you want photographed.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
EXPAND
We work around it.

I will use the venue’s indoor spaces, watch for breaks in the weather and keep anything outside short. If you want a dramatic evening rain photograph and the conditions are safe, we can make one.

It is never something you will be forced into.
How long do we need for couple photographs?
EXPAND
Usually around 10–15 minutes is enough.

I often take couples away while the venue is seating guests for the wedding breakfast. That means you are not losing part of the drinks reception. If the light changes later, we can always take another five minutes without turning it into a second photoshoot.
How far ahead should we book?
EXPAND
Most couples book around 12–18 months ahead, particularly for Fridays and Saturdays between May and September.

Quieter dates, midweek weddings and shorter coverage can sometimes be available at much shorter notice, so it is always worth asking.
