Warwickshire wedding photographer

After more than 500 weddings, I know when to step in, when to disappear and how to keep the day moving without taking it over.

I photograph weddings across Warwickshire, from Bourton Hall and Wootton Park to Warwick House and smaller register office ceremonies.

My approach — WHY COUPLES CHOOSE me
Experience you can actually feel on the day
Weddings don’t always run to plan. Timings slip, the weather changes and people disappear just when it’s time for the group photographs. After more than 500 weddings, I’m used to handling all of that calmly. I’ll step in when it helps, keep things moving when needed and leave you alone when the moment is already doing everything it should.

Warwickshire wedding venues I know

There is a difference between visiting a venue and knowing how it works once it is full of guests.

These are Warwickshire venues I have photographed during real weddings. Some are large country houses, some give guests room to spread outside and others work particularly well for smaller ceremonies.

The links lead to practical venue guides where I have written one and complete weddings where I have not. Either way, they show what the venue is like when a wedding is actually happening.

Wootton Park — HENLEY-IN-ARDEN
Wootton Park
Wootton Park is one I genuinely know, not somewhere I visited once before writing about it.

The lakeside ceremony, separate preparation rooms and independent dining and evening spaces give the wedding room to move without constantly resetting the same room.

It is also around 25 minutes from me by back roads, making it one of the most local Warwickshire venues I cover.

BOURTON HALL — BOURTON-ON-DUNSMORE
Bourton Hall
Bourton Hall has a grander setting, but that does not mean the wedding needs to feel stiff or overly formal.

Lauren and Terry used the Italian Room for their ceremony, the grounds while the October light was still available, the balcony after dinner and the staircase for their first dance.

Their complete wedding is particularly useful if you are planning an autumn date and want to see how the venue works once the daylight disappears.

WARWICK HOUSE — SOUTHAM
Warwick House
Warwick House keeps the ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast and evening close together.

That matters more than it sounds. Guests always know where they are going, the day does not lose momentum between different spaces and photographs can happen without repeatedly taking the couple away from everybody else.

Michael and Anthony’s wedding shows the venue being used from the ceremony through to the evening.

THE MEADOW BARN — STRATFORD-UPON-AVON
The Meadow Barn at Stratford Park
The Meadow Barn has large windows, plenty of usable natural light and enough outdoor space for the drinks reception to spread into the gardens.

Chloe and Adan’s wedding included garden games, an E-Type Jaguar that had to arrive on a trailer and smoke bombs that left one member of the wedding party wearing some of the dye.

The complete story shows both the venue and what happens when people are allowed to enjoy it.

ST JOHN’S HOUSE — WARWICK
Warwick Registry Office
Warwick Registry Office suits a different kind of wedding.

Most couples booking it want the ceremony, family photographs and a short set of portraits covered properly without pretending that a smaller wedding needs an entire day of photography.

St John’s House and the surrounding parts of Warwick provide enough variety without turning a two-hour celebration into a tour of the town.

Useful advice for planning your wedding

Most couples do not need more wedding advice. They need straight answers to the few decisions that affect how the day works and what eventually appears in their gallery.

These guides cover three of the questions I am asked most often.

How to choose a wedding photographer

A strong portfolio is only the beginning.

Look at complete weddings, consistency, reviews and whether the photographer’s way of working suits the day you are planning.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR

How much coverage do you actually need?

Full-day coverage gives a wedding room to move, but it is not automatically right for everybody.

Start with the moments you want photographed and build the hours around the real timetable rather than paying for coverage you will not use.
COMPARE COVERAGE

What happens if your photographer is ill?

Nobody books a photographer expecting them to become unavailable.

You should still understand what their contract, backup arrangements and professional network mean if something goes wrong.

Planning Advice

Answers to some common questions about wedding photography in Warwickshire.

Do you photograph weddings across Warwickshire?
EXPAND
Yes. I regularly photograph weddings throughout Warwickshire, including Bourton Hall, Wootton Park, Warwick House and The Meadow Barn.

I also photograph smaller celebrations at Warwick Registry Office and other venues around Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon and the surrounding villages.

I am based near Evesham, so Warwickshire sits comfortably within the area I regularly cover.
Do you need to have photographed our venue before?
EXPAND
No.

Knowing a venue can help with practical things such as timings, available light and where people normally move during the day. It is not a substitute for being able to respond to different weather, people and plans.

If I already know your venue, the real weddings and venue guides on this page will show you my experience there. If it is somewhere new, I will research it properly before the wedding rather than arriving with a list of photographs copied from somebody else’s day.
How much does a Warwickshire wedding photographer cost?
EXPAND
My Full Story collection costs £1,495 and includes up to 12 hours of photography.

Six hours costs £995, while two-hour coverage for smaller weddings and registry-office ceremonies starts at £495.

The prices are published on my website, so you do not need to enquire simply to find out whether I fit your budget.
How much photography coverage do we need?
EXPAND
It depends on which parts of the wedding matter to you.

Up to 12 hours works well when you want preparations, the ceremony, speeches and a busy dance floor included. Six hours can comfortably cover a ceremony and the main part of the reception. Two hours may be enough for a registry-office ceremony, family photographs and a short drinks reception.

Send me your approximate timings and I will recommend the shortest collection that comfortably covers what you want. There is no benefit in paying for hours you do not need.
We hate having our photograph taken. Will you help us?
EXPAND
Yes. Most of the people I photograph are not comfortable performing for a camera, and I do not expect you to arrive knowing what to do.

I will organise the family photographs and give you some straightforward direction during the couple portraits. You will not be left standing in silence while I wait for you to invent a pose.

For the rest of the wedding, you can concentrate on the people around you while I photograph what happens.
How long do couple photographs take?
EXPAND
Usually around 15 to 20 minutes in total.

We can do that in one short session or divide it across the day. I often use the period when guests are being seated for the wedding breakfast because you are temporarily missing very little.

The exact timing depends on the venue, weather and how much variety you want. It should never consume the drinks reception or make the wedding feel as though it has stopped for a photoshoot.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
EXPAND
The wedding carries on.

I will use the available indoor spaces and watch for short breaks in the weather. If you are happy to go outside, umbrellas, covered entrances and a few minutes after dark can all produce useful photographs.

I will not repeatedly drag you into the rain to manufacture something for my portfolio. Different weather changes the photographs, but it does not prevent me from documenting the day.
How far in advance should we book?
EXPAND
Popular Fridays and Saturdays between May and September are often booked 12 to 18 months ahead.

That does not mean every date disappears that early. I sometimes have availability much closer to the wedding, particularly for weekdays, winter celebrations and shorter coverage.

Once your venue and date are confirmed, send them over and I will give you a straightforward answer about availability.

Full-day wedding photography that never turns your wedding into a photoshoot.

The Full Story gives me up to twelve hours to document the day from preparations through to the dance floor. There is enough time for the important photographs and enough space around them for you to enjoy the wedding properly.

No racing through a checklist. No disappearing for a two-hour portrait session. A little direction when it helps, then back to the people you invited.

If you want your photos to feel like your day actually did.

No awkward posing. No staged moments. No turning your wedding into a photoshoot.

Most couples I work with want to spend the day with their people, not disappear for hours taking photographs. So I keep things simple. I document what’s happening, step in when you need me, and get you back to your wedding.

Big country house, registry office or somewhere in between, the job stays the same. Honest photographs of the people, atmosphere and moments that made the day yours.

Years from now, I want the photographs to take you straight back to it.
