Zoe & Chris
A summer wedding at The Firs at Hanbury in Worcestershire
The Firs — Hanbury
Zoe and Chris’ wedding at The Firs at Hanbury in Worcestershire had that easy, festival feel the venue naturally leans into, especially in the summer.
It was warm, relaxed, and full of energy from the start. The kind of day where people settle in quickly, spend time properly with each other, and everything builds without needing to be pushed along.

If you’re planning a wedding at The Firs, this is a good example of how a day there can actually feel.
The Firs at Hanbury — Morning Prep
Mornings here tend to start quietly around the farmhouse, and this was no different.

Nothing felt rushed. People arrived, settled in, and things built at a steady pace rather than all at once.

Because everything is on site, there’s no pressure of moving between locations, which makes a big difference early on. It gives everyone space to ease into the day properly.
The Firs Hanbury — A Woodland Ceremony
Zoe and Chris had their ceremony out in the woods, which is one of the things that really sets The Firs apart.

It feels completely different to a typical venue ceremony. More open, more relaxed, but still with enough cover from the trees to keep the light soft.

There’s less formality to it. People are more present, more engaged, and it never feels overly structured.
The Firs at Hanbury — Drinks Reception
After the ceremony, everything opened up across the lawns.

It was one of those warm days where people drifted across the lawns, drinks in hand, moving between groups, catching up properly. There was a lot of energy, a lot of laughing, and plenty of shots going around.

The Firs really suits that kind of atmosphere. It doesn’t force everyone into one space, so the day never feels crowded or contained.

Zoe and Chris were completely in it as well. They spent a lot of time with their guests, moving around, not disappearing for long stretches. It kept everything feeling connected.
Portraits — Relaxed
We kept portraits short and relaxed.

That’s one of the advantages here. You don’t need to go far to get good spots, whether that’s in the woods or around the grounds, so you can step away for a few minutes and then go straight back into everything.

They were up for a bit of fun with it as well. Nothing too staged, just natural moments with a bit of energy to match the day.
Summer vibes — Never feel forced
One of the biggest things with this wedding was how naturally everything flowed.

There wasn’t a hard reset where everyone gets moved at once. The day moved without interruption, from the woods to the lawns, and later towards the tipi.

Because of that, people settled quickly. The atmosphere stayed relaxed, even as it got busier.

Little details made it feel like their day too, like the centrepieces featuring photos of their dog, which added a personal touch without overcomplicating things.
By the time the evening started, it still felt like summer.

After the first dance, people naturally drifted back outside rather than staying inside all night. You get that a lot with weddings here in warmer months. Guests move between inside and out, and the whole thing feels less contained than a typical venue.

It kept that same relaxed energy going right through.
A glowing review — from Zoe & Chris
