Natalie & Alex – A Tissington Hall Wedding Overflowing with Heart and Hilarity
Some weddings just feel like home—and Natalie & Alex’s day at Tissington Hall absolutely delivered. I’d already photographed Natalie’s sister Rebecca’s wedding (no pressure, right?), so being asked back was like being welcomed into the family... again. And what a day it was—sunshine, sentimental moments, and a whole load of laughter in one of Derbyshire’s most beautiful venues.
Natalie got ready in the glorious bridal suite of Tissington Hall, surrounded by her bridesmaids, her mum, and the ever-brilliant Rebecca (returning bride, now full-time hype woman). The room was buzzing—equal parts glam, giddiness, and “has anyone seen the veil?”

There were laughs. There were happy tears. And the kind of sisterly banter that only someone who’s been there, done that, and married the t-shirt can provide. When Natalie stepped into that lace gown, the room paused. She looked utterly stunning—like something straight out of Vogue if Vogue had more confetti and less stress.
The private chapel on the Tissington estate is an absolute gem—candlelit, intimate, and packed with character. As Natalie walked in on her dad’s arm, the shift in the room was palpable. Alex? Total puddle. That kind of look you can’t fake.

They shared heartfelt vows, wiped each other’s tears, and sealed the deal surrounded by their nearest and dearest. It was romantic, emotional, and just the right amount of chaotic (shout out to the flower girl for almost stealing the show).
WHAT THEY HAD TO SAY — — GREAT WORDS
“Excellent wedding photographer, very professional. Excellent quality photographs and a wide range of pictures taken. Communicated well with us throughout and made everyone feel comfortable. Great value for money and would highly recommend James”
Tissington Hall is a playground for a wedding photographer. Ivy walls, rolling gardens, winding gravel paths—it’s like every corner is asking to be turned into a frame.

Natalie & Alex were naturals. No awkward posing. Just real moments—like Alex brushing a stray hair from Natalie’s face while she looked up at him like he hung the stars. (Spoiler: he might’ve, judging by how smitten she was.)

They laughed, cuddled, wandered hand-in-hand, and let me third-wheel their love story through a lens.
The reception kicked off in Tissington’s dining room, styled with soft florals, twinkly lights, and rustic charm. Speeches had everyone howling one minute, wiping tears the next. The love in the room was thick enough to cut with a wedding knife.

First dance? Romantic perfection. Then came the dance floor free-for-all—friends, family, questionable dance moves, and the kind of celebration that doesn’t wrap up neatly (as it shouldn’t).
Natalie & Alex, thank you for letting me be part of another chapter in your family’s incredible story. From first look to last laugh, your day at Tissington Hall was unforgettable—and a total joy to capture.
